Christian Horner Allegedly Reaching Out to Numerous Formula 1 Team Principals
Ex-Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is allegedly "contacting nearly every team principal" as he attempts a re-entry to Formula 1, according to Aston Martin CEO Andy Cowell.
The British racing team is among the squads that have been linked with the ex-boss.
The team executive mentioned he had verified the situation with squad proprietor Lawrence Stroll on Friday at the Marina Bay race.
"It appears that Christian is contacting nearly every team principal at the moment," said Cowell.
"I can definitively state there are no plans for the involvement of Christian in an management or financial position in the future."
Additional Squads Respond
Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu stated that the ex-chief had "approached" the US-based team but added: "Things haven't advanced. It's over."
Alpine executive director Steve Nielsen revealed the organization's advisor and acting leader Flavio Briatore was "long-standing acquaintances" with the ex-boss.
The Alpine director commented: "I have no knowledge what they converse about. Everything I know is there are no plans for Christian to come to Alpine but this doesn't imply it might not transpire."
The Grove-based squad team principal James Vowles confirmed that the former Red Bull leader had not approached them.
"We're very happy with the setup we have and it's working," the team principal said. "I don't see any reason to change from that."
